St Firmin’s , North Crawley

Last summer , I photographed a small and intimate wedding for the sweetest couple. Although they live in France, they returned to the UK to marry in a beautiful church close to my hometown of Newport Pagnell.
Beautifully tucked away in the village of North Crawley, a place recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, this Grade I listed church is steeped in centuries of history. One can only imagine the countless lives, love stories, and generations of couples who have stood here, exchanged vows, and begun their journeys together within its ancient walls.

While the wedding was intimate in size, the love throughout the day was truly something special. The bride’s daughter performed several operatic ballads during the ceremony, which was incredibly moving — especially within the stunning acoustics of the church.
The bride is Ukrainian, and a special blessing was held for her country, with a Ukrainian flag placed within the church. It was a deeply emotional and meaningful moment for everyone present.

After the ceremony, we travelled to a gorgeous house the couple had rented in Northamptonshire. The bride had styled an outdoor dining table in the most beautiful English cottage garden, surrounded by flowers. The table décor was thoughtfully inspired by the business the couple run together in France, with everything adorned in their logo using a luxury gold motif. Pampas grass, neutral tones, and soft whites sat perfectly against the greenery and florals, while draped voiles and fairy lights hung above — looking especially magical as the evening drew in.

For their wedding reception meal, the couple hired a private Indian chef who served a delicious three-course meal, accompanied by plenty of bubbles to toast the day.
As the evening continued, the couple had prepared games for their guests, which were so much fun to watch. Then, as the sun began to set, the groom and his old bandmates from their younger years played a few acoustic songs on guitar. Everyone joined in, singing along to classics — including Wonderwall by Oasis.
This wedding is one I won’t forget. I feel incredibly lucky they chose me to photograph their day, and it was an absolute joy from start to finish. The images truly reflect the love these two share.
